Mosaic TV on Bioethics and Women's Welfare with Jennifer Lahl, R.N., M.A.
5:30 a.m.
KPIX Television Channel 5, CBS Bay Area
Today we face unprecedented change in the most intimate areas of human life. Staggering developments in medicine, science, and technology offer increasingly greater control over our lives, our offspring, and our very selves. There is great promise in many of these areas, but the new biomedical techniques, particularly in reproductive techologies, have costs as well as benefits, and as with any new intervention or treatment or procedure, there can be foreseeable risks and dangers, and unintended consequences, as well as ethical and legal questions to consider.
Jennifer Lahl is the founder and president of the Center for Bioethics and Culture. On this episode of
Mosaic, she discusses CBC's mission to address the bioethical issues that most profoundly affect our humanity, especially the lives of the most vulnerable among us. CBC works through a variety of media platforms--documentary films, podcasts, writing, speaking, interviews, social media, and more--to educate and inform the general public, thought leaders, lawmakers, and others.
