COURAGE

Are you or is a loved one experiencing homosexual/lesbian attractions and looking for answers within the Catholic Church?

The Archdiocese of San Francisco offers support to persons with same-sex attraction and their loved ones through the ministry of Courage, an apostolate of the Roman Catholic Church (or, for Spanish-speaking, Courage-Latino or 203-803–1564 x 7016). Courage also has an outreach called EnCourage, which ministers to the relatives and friends of persons with same-sex attractions. One other excellent (and local) resource is Monica’s Cross, and another is Desert Stream Ministries.

In Courage you will get to know men and women who share your concerns. Courage has been endorsed by the Pontifical Council for the Family. Saint John Paul II said of this ministry, “COURAGE is doing the work of God!”

We encourage you to watch this excellent documentary, Desire of the Everlasting Hills, which Courage recently put out.
Another good documentary is The Third Way.

Another excellent resource, especially for young adults is Eden Invitation

Though at times you may feel discouraged, hurt, or angry, do not walk away from your families, from the Christian community, from all those who love you. In you God’s love is revealed. You are always our children.
