35th annual Respect Life Essay Contest Winners Announced

The Office of Human Life and Dignity has announced this year’s winners of the Respect Life Essay Contest, the theme of which was “Adoption as a concrete way of love.”

Each year, students who live and/or attend school in the Archdiocese of San Francisco are invited to participate in the contest, raising awareness about different topics that pertain to the dignity of the human person in writing and drawing. The awards are sponsored by United for LIFE of Northern California.

The winners and honorable mentions will participate in an 11:00 a.m. Mass and awards ceremony with Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone on Sunday, April 28, at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption in San Francisco.

“Congratulations to the students who entered, and thanks to their teachers who encouraged them,” said Maria Martinez-Mont, respect life coordinator for the Archdiocese of San Francisco. “We are also grateful to the many Respect Life volunteers who helped judge the entries.”
