Rev. Paul E. Perry
03/16/1941 – 12/15/2024

Reverend Paul E. Perry was born on March 16, 1941, at St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco. He attended St. Paul’s Primary and Elementary School in San Francisco. Following his time at St. Paul’s, he went on to St. Joseph’s College and St. Patrick’s Seminary and University in Menlo Park, where he prepared for the priesthood. He was ordained on June 3, 1967.

Father Perry is survived by his sister, Mary Anne Perry Berner and his sister-in-law, Judith White. He is the son of the late John R. Perry and Anne T. Perry and younger brother of the late Thomas J. Perry. Father Perry also leaves behind many first cousins in Livermore, Modesto, and Vancouver, WA.

Father Perry cherished his childhood memories of playing Mass with his sister, where he would play the priest and his sister the altar server. They used Necco wafers for the host and their mother’s best wine glass for the chalice. His passion for becoming a priest was evident from a young age.

A talented musician, Father Perry was known for his skill at the organ and piano, often giving memorable organ concerts. Despite not being a sports enthusiast, he once humorously played the “CHARGE!” sound on the organ during a Marin Catholic football game when the opposing team was threatening a touchdown.

Father Perry served in the Archdiocese of San Francisco from 1967 to 2018. He ministered at several parishes, with his last assignment being at Saint Sebastian in Greenbrae as the Parochial Vicar and Chaplain for Marin General Hospital.
