Psychological First Aid Training: Get Your Parish Trained for Disaster
1:00 – 4:00 pm
Disaster or tragedy can strike without warning; recovery and restoration can be long and arduous. Communities, including parishes, can and should be prepared. Resilience, confidence, and effective coping can be learned and practiced; and the Northern California fires last fall showed us the need for human connection and spiritual counseling for those affected by disaster.
“Psychological First Aid Training” is a workshop sponsored by the San Francisco Department of Public Health and the Neighborhood Empowerment Network.
Who should attend? Clergy, parish staff, interested parishioners.
What will be learned? Practical skills to increase personal and community resilience, improve coping, and manage stress.
Admission is free; light refreshments will be provided.
In the Events Center below the Cathedral.
