Join the Benedict XVI Institute on February 8, the Feast of St. Josephine Bakhita for a benefit event to help women who are survivors of human trafficking.
2021 is the Year for the Homeless for the Benedict XVI Institute for Sacred Music and Divine Worship. Throughout the year, varied events will take place, including a series of benefits to provide practical help for the homeless and other vulnerable individuals. On the Feast Day of St. Josephine Bakhita, patron saint of trafficked persons, the Institute will host a benefit to help women who are survivors of human trafficking.
All are invited to join Archbishop Cordileone at the event, which will include the reveal of a new sketch of St. Josephine by Bernadette Carstensen (to be auctioned off that evening) and a presentation from Mary Ann Carr Wilson on her experience of sharing beautiful music with some survivors of trafficking. A donation of $50 is requested in lieu of a ticket, if possible; 100 percent of the profits will go to the Children of the Immaculate Heart programs for women and children who have escaped modern-day slavery. More information and registration is available at the link above.
